The Capability Maturity Model® Integration (CMMI®) has evolved
from the learning, feedback and experience of software organizations
across the world that deployed various models (ISO, CMM®,
etc.) for improving their processes.
CMMI® builds on and extends the best practices of the
Capability Maturity
Model for Software (SW-CMM®), the Systems Engineering Capability
Model (SECM), and the Integrated Product Development Capability
Maturity Model (IPD-CMM®).
Apart
from integrating the Software and Systems Engineering areas
the model also links it all to the organization’s business
objectives and also maintains a focus on meeting customer
expectations. There
are two representations of CMMI® - Staged and Continuous,
both containing essentially the same information but differing
in the organization, use and presentation of the model elements.
QAI provides CMMI® Consulting, Training
and Appraisal
services to assist organizations in their Quality journey.
Consulting
QAI
offers consulting intervention to help organizations in successfully
undertaking their CMMI® journey.
QAI has 7 Lead Appraisers who are authorized
by the Software Engineering Institute (SEISM) to conduct CMMI®
appraisals. This
is one of the largest group of Lead Appraisers in a
single organization, outside of the USA.
The Lead Appraisers are supported by a vast pool of
experienced consultants, who have worked in the Software /Systems
Engineering domain and have also consulted various organizations
in their process improvement initiatives.
QAI is authorized by SEISM to conduct the
Official Introduction to CMMI® SE/SW
Training, which is a mandatory requirement for
an organization to undergo the final appraisal - Standard
CMMI® Appraisal Method for Process Improvement (SCAMPI(SM)).
QAI
consulting intervention typically includes an Overview
to CMMI® Training
followed by a Gap Analysis to measure the process capability
of an organization.
Based on the output of the Gap Analysis an Action Plan
is created for effectively plugging the identified gaps.
QAI
works with the organizations Quality team to define and implement
processes for supporting various Process Areas (PA) through consulting and training.
This ensures that PA Development is taken up
in a structured manner and is firmly entrenched in the organization
through Piloting and Institutionalization.
An organization’s readiness for the final appraisal
is measured through various means including Documentation
Reviews, Interviews, Spot Checks, and Pre-Appraisal.
