The PMI Scheduling Professional

Research found that within the PM community 68% agreed to the fact that scheduling is one of the key aspects of a successful Project Management. The credential was launched in March 2008. The certification has been developed with SME’s participating from across the world.

To appear for the credential, the candidate needs to be a graduate, have 3 to 5 years of scheduling experience and 30 contact hours of classes. The exam is for 3.5 hours and has 170 questions. To maintain the credential the holder must earn 30 PDU’s in the area of scheduling in the 3 year period.

From an organization perspective the benefits of a certified professional are having consistent standards of performance, help in selection process and better project management practices. From an individual’s perspective, it increases employability, offers opportunity for career development and provides oppertunity for role differentiation.
