The SEPGSM (Software Engineering Process Group) Conferences in USA and Europe are popular annual offerings that bring together practitioners and thought-leaders from industry, academia and government, for sharing and exchange of experiences, ideas and issues related to software process improvement. Through these annual get-togethers, technical engineering practices are shared, technology transition is facilitated and adoption is expedited. The SEPGSM Conferences focus on improving software engineering practices.

The first SEPGSM Conference in India in 1999, which was also the first of its kind in Asia, was attended by over 700 delegates (pre-conference and conference).

Objective

The software industry world-wide, and especially the one in India, is fast adopting a process-driven development environment. While process is vital, its performance that counts. Processes that will survive in the new millennium are the ones that will help organizations adopt to the changing world of business and create competitive advantage, especially through shorter time-to-market.

With a theme 'Process Paradigms for the New Millennium', the second SEPGSM Conference in India will explore new horizons and the myriad ways of producing better software in the years to come.
