RAJ PATIL, Max Ateev

"Knowledge Management - A People Approach"
Every organization has an invaluable asset in the collected knowledge base of its people who create and deal with knowledge that directly impacts its bottomline. However, this knowledge is rarely captured and remains as nuggets tucked away in the form of presentations, text files, mails, spreadsheets and most importantly experiences that individuals hold on to.
A good Knowledge Management tool must be centered on the organizations biggest assets - its people. It must offer facilities for the creation, capture organization, access use of information assets and, yet, make the individual the champion. It must provide a framework to reward both knowledge seekers and experts.

Mr. Patil has over 12 years of experience in building high impact execution strategies and strong management teams. His background includes deploying highly scalable technology solutions in the Financial Services, Insurance and Healthcare industries in the US. Before re-locating from the Silicon Valley to head the IT Services and e-Business initiatives of Max Infotech, Raj has co-founded Health Cast LLC, USA  and was the founding CEO for Mind Crossing Inc, USA.

GAUTAM BRAHMA, Hughes Software Systems

"Knowledge Management - A Primer"
Knowledge management has become exceedingly important today because of important factors largely out of the management’s control.
A useful approach to understanding it is to look at the variety of KM projects in progress and to survey what companies mean when they say they are
doing KM. KM implementation is expensive and best taken up after appreciating the various ways of measuring success and identifying and building on the key success factors. Every successful company actually practices KM often without being aware of it and without calling it by that name. It is important to identify & appreciate these fragmented initiatives before uniting them under a planned KM program.

Gautam Brahma is an alumnus of IIT, Delhi and IIM, Bangalore. He has worked for the last 22 years in hardware/ software engineering, industrial engineering, R&D management, quality assurance, training & consulting. Currently, he is the Head of the software quality function at Hughes Software Systems, He has active interests in e -learning, knowledge management, and intellectual property issues related to software.
