Software
Testing - Are we pushing the frontiers?
Srinivas Chandrasekar, Aztec
Software and Technology Services Limited |
|
| |
In
this presentation, Srinivas talks on attitudinal and
technological shift that would be needed to make India
a truly global powerhouse in Software Testing. India
needs to evolve further from its tactical approach to
testing. Even as we try and consolidate our leadership
position in IT services, we need to ensure that we are
constantly moving up the value chain in terms of services
being offered. Today, more and more ISVs are turning
to India for their outsourcing needs. The quality metrics
and expectations of software, these companies build,
is vastly different from the highly customized in-house
software that we are used to building, for IT departments
of enterprise verticals. Today, while the caliber of
an Indian software engineer is widely recognized the
world over, the brand equity of the Indian software
test engineer has to be created. |
