‘
Testing Business: Accelerated Outsourcing Gateway
to India ’
Venkatesh Chillara, Satyam |
|
| |
While
outsourcing is not new to India - due to inadequate
business, architectural, design, operations and end
to end system knowledge, most of the outsourcing engagements
are getting limited to staff augmentation assignments
and project centric tactical assignments. Increasing
usage of software in every business (life / business
/ machine – critical assignments) is posing new
questions - reliability, safety and security? (read:
as a case in point, it is projected that by 2015, 50%
of the end price of a car will be based on the software
components that will be embedded in it).
The Testing Business, in essence involves understanding
as to how and why does software work, or not work. In
a nutshell, testing business maybe ideally placed as
an enabler to acquire intensive and extensive (depth
and breadth) knowledge of IT engineering and to gauge
software quality objectively (takeaways).
In spite of current limitations, IT exports accounted
by India are to the tune of USD 23 Billions. In light
of the takeaways, is TESTING BUSINESS going accelerate
IT Outsourcing to India?
