QAI
and Fort Ross
The
relationship between the consortium of "Fort Ross IT services"
and QAI goes back to 2001, when QAI's Consulting Partner Mr.
Ajay Batra conducted a number of trainings in Russia. The trainings
were mainly CMM® related and were focused at increasing awareness
of Software Process Improvement in Russia among Russian IT professionals.
The relationship
between the consortium of "Fort Ross IT services" and
QAI was aimed at
Facilitating Process Improvement initiatives in Russia and neighboring
countries.
Over the past few years Russia has been making tremendous progress
in the area of Software development and this has resulted inthe
need for Software Process Improvement. This is evident from the
fact that Russian companies are increasingly trying to get themselves
CMM® and CMMI® assessed. Digital Design, Start SPB and Telma
are among the first to adopt and successfully institutionalize CMM®
and related models in their organizations.
The next step
in this direction has been the Russian Software Outsourcing Summit
held in Saint Petersburg from the 25th to the 28th of June where
QAI also participated.
QAI's CEO Mr. Navyug Mohnot spoke in 2 roundtable conferences, one
on 'QA Certification-why do we need it and how do we get it' and
the second on "Synergy of joint actions of Government and business
IT community".
The summit is
amongst the most celebrated IT events in Russia. Over the past three
years it has been able to attract participation from the best and
most progressive organizations in the world which include Motorola,
Intel, Toshiba, Nokia etc. The continuing success of the summit
is proof of the growing Russian interest and competence in the IT
sector.
The Russian
IT industry has been attempting to emulate the success that India
has achieved in the area of Software development and IT in general
and QAI is all set to play the role of being a facilitator in their
endeavor. Over the last 10 years QAI has been involved in facilitating
enhanced competitiveness in the IT organizations in the world through
the Triad of people Process and Technology, and now it is all set
to do so in Russia too.
